Did I do the right thing?

There was this guy I was dating who uploaded a video on Snapchat of him aiming a fake machine gun at a police station. I ghosted him after that and reported it, he got in trouble. Sometimes I wonder if I shouldn’t have done that because he just is so cute and nice other then that. But I feel I did the right thing in ghosting him because it’s like how would we talk after that?
