Were you allowed to date during your teenage years? Would you consider it normal to grow up without being allowed to date?

I was allowed to date as a teen. Going to a movie or dance at school with someone first. Doors opened when you got a drivers license. PDA was frowned on but holding hands and sneaking an arm around your gal was "tolerated" at the movie theater.

I would NOT consider it normal to prohibit dating for teenagers.

I'm not allowed to date because mum said I'm not emotionally ready to date because I have a lot of other things happening. They want me to focus on my studies.

Boarding schools didn't have the market cornered for growing up with affection being missing. 😒
