Why in dating profiles do big women always say"if you dont like bigger women then go ahead and skip my profile" obviously we will if we dont like it?

Is it some sort of defense mechanism for them to say that? We can see your photos

Maybe people need to have some courage and approach people in the real world instead of wasting hours looking through cheap profiles like coupons for the supermarket.
MntoNc · 36-40, M
@Keepitsimple you're right, but this is the generation we're in. If you were in your 20s and 30s you might be using it! Actually, people in their 50s use online dating!
Keepitsimple · 51-55, F
@MntoNc I understand people use it but I need to observe people and watch them in the real world. I can’t imagine shopping for a life partner on a web site.
@Keepitsimple Agreed. A tonight partner? Maybe. A LIFE partner? Probably not!

Maybe some of the guys say nasty things to them?

@MntoNc I don't do dating web sites so I'm not aware of what you can do on them. If you match, I assume you can send a message? Maybe they're matched with someone who looks at their profile then tells them that they aren't interested? I really don't know why a woman would do that unless someone has said something unkind to them. 🤷‍♀️
MntoNc · 36-40, M
@SW-User the app doesn't match you with someone you don't want to be matched with. You have to swipe on them, and they have to swipe on you in order to match. Then you can send a message

@MntoNc Maybe guys have swiped on them and then changed their minds, telling them that they're too fat for them? It doesn't make sense to me unless someone was rude to them about their weight. Or, maybe the women are looking for ltr and the guys just use them for sex, telling them afterwards that they're too fat to be their girlfriends?
DrWatson · 70-79, M
I suspect the women who post that have had the unfortunate experience of men leaving insulting messages about their size. If so, then perhaps they are simply trying to stave off such hurtful behavior in the future.
yeronlyman · 51-55, M
Because society often is cruel and make assumptions about overweight people
And I can expect they have had bad experiences

I would suggest empathy as a default
DrWatson · 70-79, M
@yeronlyman I agree.

It just saves hassle.. no one type suits everyone, so they are just saying up front, if that's not your thing move on..

Not a defence mechanism.. just saying it as it is..

It's kinda sad that you, or anyone else would even think that women, larger or not, need to employ defence mechanisms.. kinda sad to view people in that way
MntoNc · 36-40, M
@Adaydreambeliever but you don't need to say anything upfront if you can already see them upfront, lol
wow they should just make a large women filter on those sites.. so people can just pick if they do or don't want it first hand 😄 that way they can find each other faster
It's because many people won't move on even if they don't like the person. They will just continually stalk and harass that person. Sometimes even trying to get them to kill themselves.
So putting that in a profile is a way of saying f*ck off.
SW-User
They're just saying they're cool with us skipping them in their own passive aggressive way
MntoNc · 36-40, M
@SW-User so yeah, a defense mechanism, and yeah kinda in a passive aggressive way
Excellent observation.
@DrWatson Your beef is with the OP, but I think it is def. a waste of time to tell people who aren't interested to just move on.

RE: People who wsnt to leave nasty-grams, do you really think that ANY text will stop them?

But regarding your own statement, it isn't obvious that the profile poster means what you say, either.

If she meant that, she could be like people here and say "haters will be blocked or ignored"...
DrWatson · 70-79, M
@SomeMichGuy I don't have a "beef" with anyone here. And I agree it is not obvious that my theory is correct, which is why I carefully chose the word "suspect."

I'm just participating in a discussion.
@DrWatson Your point should have been made to the OP as a reply of its own, that's all I'm saying. Replying to me...lol

Who knows, online dating attracts all sorts of weirdos.
Lilymoon · F
