Is it racist to raise your children to not date a certain race?

The world is still changing and the kids need to understand the challenges. When I was dating back in the 80's is was uber taboo in Small Town, Mississippi. There were opportunities, but I would never have been able to follow through with them because I would have been grounded and disowned. Yes, that is racist, but that's how it was. If my boys wanted to date someone of another race, I would just hope she loves God, her parents are good to my boy, and they know what they are getting into.

I'm married to a white girl, but I never thought about race as to who I was dating (when I was single). There are still a lot of segregated feelings from all the races.
