are dating apps a waste of time

dating apps like tinder and bumble, bumble which i recently signed up for...it just seems pointless, because i created a profile and profile picture, i'm a 47 year old man and swiped a lot of women i like the look of but ive had no likes back??

is this soul destroying or should i not take it that serious? and just have a take it or leave it attitude?
