Why do women get more emotionally attached to someone? Do guys have the same sentiments like a woman does when it comes to love?

I think guys tend to be very attached emotionally but due to expected gender roles they aren't allowed to express it,talk about it with anyone or even personally acknowledge it. But are instead expected to be emotionless sexual predators. All of this leads to the self turning inward and creating various personal issues.
