It’s a usual ballet-packed day for Chiara.

She usually has a ballet warm up class first, it’s designed to warm through the body, especially your legs and feet. It’s a graceful class but not too intense, remembering that these are young bodies that can be damaged by intensive exercise.

Her second class is usually a full ballet class if barre and centre work. Her third class is on pointes, and her fourth is partnering with a dance partner. There are not too many boys in class so it helps that the boys are happy to have more than one partner during the class. The girls partner each other until it is their turn to partner one of the boys.

Chiara enjoys every class and she talks about them when we are together later in the day.
