Ballet: what are “ballet flats”?

My girlfriend said she wants a new pair of ballet flats for her birthday coming up.

Now, I KNOW that they are a type of shoes.

So, anyone with experience with them, what brands and styles would you think she’d like?

I cannot show her, because they are going to be surprise gift!

Thanks for the suggestions!

Shoes like these
I've got a few pairs in different colours including a black pair like these.
@MaryDreamilton Are you sure that she doesn't want these???

He specifies "Balet" - so she may be a ballerina... 🤔🤔🤔

@HootyTheNightOwl I don't know, but the ones I posted are known as ballet flats.
@MaryDreamilton It's the emphasis on "Balet" that throws me off - especially when there is no indication either way if she's actually into balet or not.

My first thought was that maybe it's your type of shoe - but the emphasis made me wonder if she might be a dancer and be wanting a different type of shoe... it's confusing without the clarification... 🤪🤪🤪

@HootyTheNightOwl The majority of my shoes have high heels, but when I wear flats they are usually like the ones I posted.

What does "balet" with one "l" mean? It looks like it might be a French word but I don't remember seeing it.
@MaryDreamilton It means that the typer might be dyslexic and struggling with remembering the second "L".

@HootyTheNightOwl I've never seen it spelt with only one "l" before.
