Ballet: what are “ballet flats”?

My girlfriend said she wants a new pair of ballet flats for her birthday coming up.

Now, I KNOW that they are a type of shoes.

So, anyone with experience with them, what brands and styles would you think she’d like?

I cannot show her, because they are going to be surprise gift!

Hmm... it's strange to me that she would leave the purchase of such an important piece of equipment down to someone who doesn't even know what she is asking for.

To answer your question, they are the shoes that she wears to perform in.

My advice would be to suddenly become obsessed with the shoes she currently wears...

Brand???
Size???
Colour???
Does she like them???
Are they comfortable to wear???

Really listen to what she says and let her answers guide you. That is how I make decisions when I'm not too sure about tools or other hobby equipment for men - and I'm generally just about spot on.
