Strictly Come Dancing

"Strictly Come Dancing" is a UK show - possibly it has its US twin. Most shows seem to. Whatever, it's become a UK institution, much like the Royal Family.

Various "celebrities" (I'm not really up with so called "celebrity culture" - most who appear on the show I've never heard of!) are paired off with professional dancers and each week they perform a particular dance in line with some sort of theme. A panel of four people give marks out of ten and these are mixed in with a public vote. Each week the lowest marked pair make their exit, after the "drama" (yawn) of the dreaded dance off of the two lowest scoring.

My other half loves the show. For me, a bit of harmless fun where I can read or listen to music with my headphones undisturbed during the shows duration.

But hey! Sometimes it throws up something that actually makes me sit up and take notice. This year it is the contestant Chris McCausland. The guy is blind. And I do know of him from other shows. Being taught to dance by a professional.

I watched as they did their turn and really, just had to admire the guy. Not sure just how his partner teaches him or exactly how they can end up with that sort of unison. The Jive it was this week.

Sometimes something just comes along........

I always watch it the next day. It's good, harmless entertainment. Sure, some cheese in there but but good stuff all the same. Yes, I love Chris. Seen some of his comedy stuff and he always makes me laugh! Like you, I really have no idea how he can do those moves, and be in the right place at the right time. Just how Dianne trains him...phew! Wonderful!

Dr Punam and here couple's choice, with her Indian dancing routine...that was also a first! Why has it taken so long to have Indian dancing in? Was lovely to see. Great performance.

There's some good talent in this series....Keeeeeep Watching!
