I Love to Dance
It’s, uh, pretty much just random flailing on my part. Also, in case anyone wants to know, I do end up flat on my face most times. Perhaps, it’s the effort that counts? 😅
Now, while my “dancing” has brought me more pain than gain, I do most certainly enjoy watching experts/anyone who actually knows what they’re doing engage in the art!
There’s just something really special about this form of expression. So much meaning in it. The technical aspect that takes momentum and angles into account. The historical aspect that breathes life into it. Even the, sometimes, romantic aspect that can leave people inspired and impassioned. The fact that these things can blend together and create the whole that we see and appreciate is amazing! Which is why it is simply awe-inspiring the moments where two dancers, from completely different cultures, come together in a plethora of twirls and leaps.
With each smooth execution of a technique, they present the differences and similarities of their ancestry, as well as their dedication to such a craft. Dancers, to me, are proof that no matter who you are, and now, where you are, there is always a way to communicate without speaking.
Thank you for reading! 😄
Bonus:
This is just me rambling again, but this time about how cool I feel dance is and how I’ve always perceived it. I certainly expect it to seem a bit jumbled since I spontaneously wanted to write something for the group, rather than just “Me Too” it. Consider it a written presentation of my “dancing.” 🙂
