Far From Being A Cycling Nut
But I do enjoy it.
I'm what you would call a fairly lazy person. Typical 20th C/21st C woman that pretty much drives everywhere, much to my partner's annoyance.
I'm really not one for exercise either; thankfully blessed with the Durose genetic makeup which means I'm quite tall and skinny.
The wife is the exercise nut in our little family.
But what I do do, with the compliance of our 7 year old daughter, is to cycle whilst Samantha, my wife, goes for a run. We equate it to being like Rocky's Trainer, Mickey, and although it's quite a sedate pace our daughter loves shouting 'Run, mummy! Run mummy!' to her. Makes me smile a lot.
We usually do around 6 or 7 miles around our local area and, whilst Samantha is catching her breath and getting herself together, we'll do a couple of miles of sprinting (if she's on the cross bar) or, if she's got her own little bike, do that couple of miles sprinting at her pace.
I'm not fast, incidentally; just fast for me!
It's just a way for us all to combine a bit of health with a bit of nature and to promote something other that sitting in front of computer games to our daughter.
Obviously I'm a fair-weather gal too. Never in the rain.
😉
