It's long been thought that the Ferrari racing team has been given 'special favour' above the other racing teams by the F.I.A
This idea came about even before the extended period of Ferrari's success during Michael Schumacher's dominance of the sport during the 90's.
But has never been proven.
There are many recorded incidents of Ferrari 'testing' where other teams have recorded footage of laps and subsequent lap times that have caused many within the sport to question how such times were possible and the level of 'control of the vehicle' were possible [u]IF[/u] the car were 'as-per-the-rulebook'.
NOW it seems, that following pressure from the other teams, the F.I.A, following an 'investigation' into Ferrari's 2019 engine, have [i]reached a settlement.[/i] BUT neither Ferrari are admitting 'wrongdoing' nor are the F.I.A disclosing exactly WHAT this 'settlement' is for exactly !
The other teams (interestingly, NOT those teams running the same engines as Ferrari) are considering legal and even civil action if the full report isn't released.
