MMIW - Missing Murdered Indigenous Women
Here are some pics I took on my hike this morning of a commemoration of Canadian missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls at a Medicine Wheel garden.
Do you know what the Red Dress represents? May 5th is Red Dress Day in Canada honouring our missing and murdered indigenous women and girls.
The Medicine Wheel garden is split into four quadrants representing the cardinal directions, seasons, and cycles of life. It contains native medicinal wildflowers used by Canadian indigenous.
The orange ribbons hanging from the trees represent Every Child Matters (orange shirt day)
