I Am Irish

Some people are really pissed about this. Personally I think it's hilarious.

That may or may not make me a bad person.

Personally I resent the implication that colonialist of a foreign crown claim to be Irish, considering Ireland was still under British occupation until 1922,and wasn't recognised as a state until 1927,so by logic if you apply the grandparents rule to the good Friday agreement they your grand parents were British, their birth certificate like those in the present colony of THE UK are lodged in Westminster hall of records, you pay tax n revenue to the crown, you can only vote in U.K. Elections, and you can only hold Irish passports because of the good Friday agreement, which is void when brexit is completed,we have been working with the eu ministers to formally lodge a white paper where people in Northern Ireland will have to prove they are Irish by birth, baptism, and by tax laws n pps number which is given at birth.then a security check will be conducted on each person who applies for citizenship failure will result in been non resident,we hope to have this bill lodged when Charlie Flanagan goes to Brussels in June 6th,as part of our discussion with the EU PARLIAMENT N THE BRITISH Secetary of state JOHN Brougshire n Theresa may.OH I AM A SITTING TD IN DAIL EIREANN.

@LUVELACE: why would you want that to happen? You're abandoning the land (& its people.) How utterly disappointing, that's just spineless.

Where have all the fighting Irish gone? Smh

Also, my grandfathers were from counties Donegal & Monaghan. Only one of my grandparents was born in the north.

It's not to do with abandoning the land it's to do with legalities,we have 6.7 million citizens in the Republic of Ireland and our primary concern is to see they will not be adversely affect by brexit, the north of Ireland is part of this island,by geographical placement,it's under BRITISH rule,so BRITISH laws apply up there, your allegiance by default is to the crown,This will all be raised and debated by the powers to be,in Europe parliament n best case is this country gets reunited by a sympathetic vote and not one of birth right. Our forefather fought long n hard to free this country from rule of crown but the powers to be in stormont preferred land title n deed n queens coin, rather than be one nation one flag..but this argument for r against brexit is one which effect,CANADA,AUSTRALIA,NEW ZELAND,Northern Ireland a like, politics isn't fair its about deals n agreement.
