Mush-a ring dumb-a do dumb-a da
Whack fall the daddy-o, whack fall the daddy-o
There's whiskey in the jar

They don't write them like that any more.

I did some research on this song quite a few years ago and this ballad has quite a history!
A very old Irish song that Thin Lizzy made the ultimate rock version although there are other great adaptions.
Phil is a very tragic story but not unusual for gifted rock singers unfortunately.

Great classic rock tune.

Also love the artwork at the beginning of the video.
I seen them open for Judas Priest years ago. They were fantastic. TIN LIZZEH!

On this whole album, I'd want to turn up the bass(track, not EQ), but I think this is the best they ever did:

The original issue of this CD is from the master tapes(I know, because I know the guy who mastered it).

@Pfuzylogic They layered several guitars. Listen to the end of The Boys Are Back In Town, I lost count after 5. PLUS, I think they doubled some of the harmony parts. You can see how someone like Bon Jovi completely ripped them off.
@uncalled4 Small aside on that song: Mitt Romney used it as one of his campaign numbers. Philomena Lynott (Phil’s mother) objected, saying,
"As far as I am concerned, Mitt Romney's opposition to gay marriage and to civil unions for gays makes him anti-gay – which is not something that Philip would have supported."
@bijouxbroussard There's always something like that happening. Radio talk show host Mark Levin uses Linkin Park's "Somewhere I Belong" to bump in and out of segments, but I do not think it's officially sanctioned.
