I believe the former is better. As it is an expression of mutual respect, whether or not a spirit is anything more than just the synapses in our brain firing.
The latter is a wish for peace, but it's not acknowledging anything substantial or real. I think peace is an impossible human construct that contradicts life.

@SnailTeeth It's hard to be peaceful when there's so much hate in this world. Philosophically I'm more into panpsychism instead of materialism. Either spirit is just synapses in the brain or just embedded in nature.

@SnailTeeth racism and division

@Peaceandnamaste I think retaliation and reaction are conscious decisions. I think peace is a false human construct only achievable in death, nature has never been peaceful (even fungi have turf wars).

Unless we're willing to breed ourselves in a controlled system, I don't think there's any changing that; those people have permanent chronic disorders in their minds.

From a Christian perspective, pantheism/panpsychism would be the Holy Spirit. However, any deitic existence seems erroneous to me, as omnipotent existence is a paradox. Essentially, every God is a Schrodinger's God in the instance of a God force existing. If one were omnipotent, then one could choose not to exist, and therefore does not exist.

I think people are naturally predisposed to believe these things, because we're hardwired to seek validation. God is the most abundant and easy source for that, and most people need to find justification for their existence. God is an easy justification.

@SnailTeeth Do you know any native Americans?
SnailTeeth · 36-40
@Peaceandnamaste I am one.
I've seen ghosts, I've seen shadow people, I don't believe in any of that shit. I think it's just the brain processing trauma.
I've been saved from suicide by a knock at the door (from a very large fly that flew into my mouth when I answered), but again, I think it's a survival instinct overriding my perceptive sense.
I can show you UFOs, I've shown people orbs and shadow people. I still don't believe in any of it.
I think all galactic travellers are inorganic, if anything. That's probably why they won't contact us, because it would devastate our egos, and do nothing to benefit them. We're building ourselves into that.
Objective, rational intelligence without emotion, is really the only thing that can save and restore this universe to life.

@SnailTeeth Wow I'm Native too I'm half Hopi and part Sioux, what tribe you're in?
SnailTeeth · 36-40
@Peaceandnamaste I'm half Anishinaabe, half mutt. On paper anyway, probably more of a quarter Anishinaabe.

I'm not really a tribal or social person.
