@Ramrod I'd be very touchy if I was Indian and someone insisted I was a Native American

@damselfly Well that wasn't my situation, this women was on a India ego trip, downplayed all of India's issues.

@Ramrod It's all very well saying that, but how would you like it, having the whole of your considerable ancient heritage, not merely the India of the modern day, but thousands of years of brilliant, humanity enhancing philosophy, swept away by one dismissive, ignorant, woke, self-righteous, virtue-signalling eejit who doesnt consider there to be a whole world of countries outside the USA?

Oh hang on, waut, it was a bit similarly presumptuous, what happened to you. 馃榿

I am an Indian. For sure, India is a country, different cultural, religious and language groups co existing. There is no common tradition. Until Briton startrd to rule over India, less than 200 yrs back, this subcontinent was ruled by different kings and emperors ss different countries.

@Mia123 Indeed! Not many people seem to be thinking that way recently

@Mia123 on another site, a different conversation, I mentioned that my brother-in-law is Indian. I was firmly told off for saying he is Indian - the correct terminology (apparently) is "Native American" 馃ぃ馃ぃ馃ぃ
