No it doesn't. My mother was born in Wales and came to Canada when she was three. She married a Canadian had 4 Canadian Children, paid Canadian taxes voted in every Canadian election. She wanted to do some international travel in her 50s since she had never left Canada in 50 years. When she applied for her Canadian passport she was informed that she was a British Subject and not a Canadian Citizen. That got her Welsh dander up and she applied and became a Canadian Citizen.
