My fellow Canadians,

it has come to my attention that some of you hate our Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, with the kind of visceral hatred that American liberals feel for Donald Trump.

Why?

I'm not a big fan myself but this kind of animosity puzzles me. Here is your chance to explain it and vent :)

And I think as a fellow Canadian, most of us avoided controversy, here. Let me not stir it, but from my knowledge, only one Canadian commented on how they hate Trudeau. The rest were from out of country, which is emblematic, to me, of the vitriol going on in media these days. That's the actual source, in my opinion. A mix of social media and media fanning flames as it gets 'hits'.

@thewindupbirdchronicles A "friend" in Alberta goes on about Trudeau being "evil", etc., but he has buried his head in right wing vids.

He'll watch a 90-min vid and point out the one snippet with which he agrees and tell me to watch it. The snippet is out of context...ugh.

@SomeMichGuy There's also been a long divide between Alberta and the federal Liberals that's been running since I think the '30s. The language used is probably worse now. Truly, I hardly pay attention to politics now for this precise reason.
