Canadians - best ngo influencers?

If I had an idea for a product or movement to help improve/protect Canada's culture or politics, who would be best suited to manufacture it (non-profit) or promote its message? I think of, for instance, The Council of Canadians, or ( what's its name?) the one about policy alternatives - or maybe a high profile individual?
