I Am Canadian
I am glad we helped the flood victims in Texas by sending a military cargo plane
full of supplies, blankets, hygiene kits etc and our government will send a military
cargo plane to Florida if help is needed there with this next hurricane.
But I am not one who wants this crisis to go to waste. We have multi-engine
water bombers sitting doing nothing on a lake on Vancouver Island as well as a 737
recently converted to a water bomber sitting at a near by air port. Smoke from
fires in BC and Washington State are filling up the skies over Western Canada.
Think I will right to our provincial and national government to persuade them if
they are not going to use these planes to fight wildfires in BC maybe they
should be put to use helping Washington State. We have a motive ( the smoke in
the sky) These four engine float planes have fought wildfires in California
and Greece. They can scoop up 1000s of litres in 30 seconds.
Like to hear from you your opinion especially if you are an American living
in a border State. Double especially if you are in Washington State.
