I Am British

"I love the British accent"
What does that even mean? I hear Americans say it all the time but I sound nothing like someone from London or from Glasgow etc. So which one do they mean!?

Most seem to think Britain/the UK literally means England, London, that's it, the end, with a few stereotypical accents I.e Lily Allen and Hugh Grant for example. 🙄
