I'm searching for any former coal miner face workers that worked with pit ponies; I intend to write a novel of the same theme. Especially the Northumberland coalfields. Thanks.

Thanks, Karen. I have the book by Roy Thompson, "How Long Did The Ponies Live", a thoroughly researched book but quite horrific and very sad too.
