Parents - an urgent call to action

Parents

If you have a child aged 0 to 6 , talk to them - often, point things out and tell them stories about whatever it is you've seen. Hold their hand and sing as you walk. Stop in the park and play some ball or push a swing.
Smile and be interested in whatever they have to tell you.

Please don't shove them in buggy and stay glued to your mobiles all day, tapping away endlessly. I'm shocked at how many children have become the forgotten generation as I watch parents ignore their kids for hours. Is it any wonder that so many children now suffer from ADHD. It brings a tear to my eye when I see it. Love them, they're not children for long.

I think its sad the way some parents have become. I work in blocks of flats and all the time i can hear parents screaming at there kids and the bad language. Those kids are going to grow up the same. Its worse now as its half term here and the kids are at home for 2 weeks

@nevergiveup yes it's unforgiveable really. We all have to shout at our kids now and then but if you hear relentless abuse and expletives please think about making a safeguarding alert call to social services. Whatever council area you work in, go to their website and search for children safeguarding.
