I Am English

I am English and I love England. Not the political side of things, but I love it because:
1) We have peaceful, picturesque trails winding through the countryside. The Pennine Way, South Downs and Cotswold Way. Countless leisurely walks perfect for a Sunday stroll.

2) Village pubs with comfort food. Afternoon tea, a luxurious English treat sandwiches, scones, cakes, muffins and of course tea.

3) Wimbledon. The oldest tennis court in the world, Wimbledon is played at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in London every summer. As one of the four Grand Slam tennis tournaments, it lasts for two weeks at the end of June and beginning of July. One of the grandest sporting events and venues in the world. I attended only one was enthralled with seeing such a high level of tennis in person at a beautiful venue packed with perfectly manicured grass courts and the legendary ivy growing along outside of the centre court.

4) Seaside towns. England has a variety of beautiful and unique seaside towns throughout the country. I visited Brighton earlier this summer and it's love it's rock beach and quirky atmosphere.

5) Cornish pasties! Cornwall has a history of pasties dating back to the 17th century, so they must know what they are doing.

6) Nearly forgot to mention crumpets. Buttered with jam.
