We’re living in strange times

I am posting this in addition to a post I posted the other day where billboards had the words “get married” “reproduce”

Amazon is one of the largest companies in the world by revenue it’s actually the third. Amazon does not pay taxes and Amazon is now in the transitional state of replacing 75% of warehouse manufacturing labor with robots.

In my honest opinion it hurts the overall economy for two reasons 1. Amazon is not paying taxes therefore they’re not contributing and 2 by disrupting the labor market people aren’t getting paid meaning all of that revenue will not go back into the economy it goes entirely to Amazon

What is your reaction to that?

We've watched amazing coordination between Amazon putting in new fulfillment centers and warehouses and stuff we don't understand, taking out the better, nicer spaces that we had left. They pay no taxes, here, too! And people here seem oblivious. Our city government bullies the people who talk back. They're very happy with Amazon. The roads stay torn up, and Amazon was supposed to repair them in lieu of any taxes! But, no.
The shale covering these new sites came from fracking in Canada, the trucks seem to be running less, this year.
They killed the land.
They seem too well connected to touch.
Clinton said we'd need the post office to die so an Amazon could protect our information and sales. Yup. Bipartisan. Americans seem devoted to this outcome.

@Roundandroundwego Amazon has the potential to become a monopoly and I don’t think people comprehend why that’s such a bad thing 😳
