I am a Gypsy or Romani

I look white because of my light skin but I’m actually half Romani half white. Romani settled in Europe and were traced back to India like a thousand years ago. Some say it was punjab, rajasthan or sindh region of northern India. There is a lot of discrimination against Romani people still in existence but I admit the way some Roma behave is not great especially in Europe. There is a lot of misunderstanding and stigma attached to being a Gypsy even if you live a law abiding life and don’t fit stereotypes like stealing children and being con artists and swindlers or violent thugs. I’m not a witch I can’t curse people and I’m not Esmeralda from hunchback of notre dame. I’m not promiscuous or loose. Actually my family is quite open for a gypsy family ( just not on my bundled up clothing choices) and very integrated into society. My parents are disappointed in me and the dreams for me that have not occurred. I’m not a thief or human trafficker. There are so many generalizations. I’m not a costume you put on once a year . I could go on.
