The Festival of Colors
This week is special for India. Especially the hindi belt along the Ganges river and nearabouts.
Holi, the festival of colors, of joy, merriment, celebration is unparalleled in its grandness and national participation except perhaps by Diwali, the festival of lights. While this is in spring, the other is in autumn. While this is a day festival, the other is a night one. While this is on full moon, the other is on new moon. Opposites perhaps.
And i know i am ageing when the thrill is diminishing, the energy lacking to break into a dance while roaming aimlessly with the color coated unknown faces through the streets of the city. Nostalgic about the years gone by. 😊
