Difficulties in cultural concepts with the Nepali people…

I have no husband, no boyfriend, no kids. That’s strange for asian ppl I get it. But somewhat they can understand that. They maybe can imagine a series of reasons as why I’m single right now.
But what seems like, that cannot fit in their minds is, that I don’t want one! It seems unbelievable to them. I must be looking for a husband, right? No! I’m not looking for anyone. It just doesn’t fit their thinking..

They seem to have a very dated image of what a woman can and should be. It must be purely functional for them since there are no specialized occupations available for women.

@Pfuzylogic I believe the younger generation sees things differently but I have few chances to interact with them so far, they're enclosed in schools and colleges

@being So there is so much of the culture that is concealed! Education would be part of what diverges from rural dependencies!
