Have your Grandparents or Parents ever shared the fun they had when they embarked on a trip to 'Hippie Trail'?
Neither my Grandparents or Parents were a fan of drugs, loud music, s*x and travel (i.e. stay from home & family for months) culture of then. So, none of them had any exciting stories or adventures to share.🙂
However, one of my Uncle did enjoy the hippie trail. He had enough stories and sweet memories to share.
Hippie Trail was this route:
This journey was for the people who wanted to experience the beauty of different cultures with music, drugs, blissful s*x and ample of travel. Some of these travellers when saw the love and beauty in other cultures, they embraced it and became a citizen of that country.
You may not believe it but Kabul, Afghanistan used to be the meeting point for lots of 'Hippies' then.
The dark side, some of these travellers never returned home and vanished forever. You may Netflix's 'The Serpent' for that.🙂
Tbh people back then were more fluid, it was the time when people were breaking away from traditional religious routes because they understood just how limiting it is. It was an active act of rebellion and they not only sought out pleasure but lived to literate and free the minds of others. My grandmother would say it was the lifestyle of sodom and gomorrah (not sure of spelling) but this happened every 60 years or so, what we are seeing now is the revival of that movement for the lgbtq+ community. Some people calk it digression but in regards to love and freedom I call it a right. That's partly why work has changed, if you're finding employees leaving or being diagnosed with burnout its due to the tiresome work load inflicted to make you too tired to see what's really going on, its about reform keeping us in line so the rich get richer and poor stay poorer still. As for afghan, it was known for its luxuries and pleasure etc, watch films like carry on.
Anyways although its not the life I seek to live I have visited some 9f those places myself and I can see why some may indulge, the people the different lifestyles the weather it alters the mood almost like an afrodisiac. Travel with some with an open mind and your eyes will be opened.
