Gmaw started her racist sheet again yesterday
So I told her "if the papers writes about a dog who bites someone, does that make all dogs dangeous?"
Her: No, ofcourse not
Me: are all foreigners written about in the papers, or just the bad ones?
Her: Just the bad ones, I guess
Me: so are all foreigners bad people?
Her: well, they come to our country and *blablabla*
Me: do you think native Norwegians are good people?
Her: well most of them, yeah
Me: and which ones do you think are evil?
Her: the criminal ones mentioned in the paper
Me: so, you think Norwegians are good people except from the ones specifically mentioned in the news?
Her: yeah
Me: but you think ALL foreigners are bad people because some of them are mentioned in the news?
Her: obviously. Those *n-words* are..
Me (cutting her off) : You know, anyone not born in Norway are foreigners. Even *mentions a few family friends from other countries*. Also, some people of color are born and raised in Norway, making them just as Norwegian as you and me.
Her: You're not making any sense. Shut up!
I've had this conversation with her so many times now I can tell it won't stick. Any advice on how to get through to her before dementia takes her?
I know the older generation tends to be racist (and ki da gets away with it because of their age) but it's affecting my nieces now, who's started saying racist shit.
