Meh. Everyone was racist back then. People should be judged within context.
@Gloomy are you justifying sin?? Read your Bible
Gloomy · F
@Stargazer89 Only christians believe in sin and I rather burn a Bible than to read the worthless book again. You claim absolute truth and think an old document full of contradictions is real. You are a sociopath.

@Stargazer89 I can still respect him and still disagree with the idea that homosexuality is some sin because a religious book says so.

I'm against racism, sexism, genderism, transphobia and homophobia.

It's strange that people today still believe in a book filled with contradictions, talking animals and people being made from dirt.

Here's a simple question for yourself: who at the time of David Hume was alright according to yourself? Obviously, you'll find some (I hope) but on average it was quite a different time than today. It's way too easy to be that judgemental, and that I know only too well as a historian

@LordShadowfire No, it isn't "fine", nor was homophobia, but we can't judge who and what they were based on common beliefs of the time they lived in, doesn't mean it was right. Neither was Doctors promoting smoking as being healthy but they are all long dead so what's the point of saying they were evil?

@spjennifer It's better than sucking the ghost of their dicks, to paraphrase Rick and Morty. We have to remember, these people were fallible.

@LordShadowfire As you'll note, I said it was wrong but can we really judge them for the way they were raised then? I neither glorify nor despise them, I understand that this is how they were raised and educated then. Yes they certainly were fallible, just like we are and 100 years from now, should we be judged based on the morals that will exist then?
