No one wishes to confront the elephant in the room. "Bests of intentions" are similar to the one's paving the the road to hell with good ones.

Travel back to the dawn of mankind, and that dot on the map where, mankind began. As life grew, so did conflict. Greed, territory, skin color.....have's vs. have-not's, pick your reason.....pick your time period. Man has been making war against itself to the beginning of time;....Assyrians vanquishing the Phoenicians and parts of the mighty Egyptian Empire, African tribes like West African Dahomey and other african tribes selling neighboring villages to slave traders for the Atlantic Slave trade. The Comanche nearly totally eradicating the Apache, the viscious Visigoths pouring in to Italy to sack Rome in year 410.

On, and on. Being "aware".....is merely an activist's trade. In this day and age it's made up of thinly veiled anarchists posing as outraged socialists and that drivel.
The question, [pardon the pun] has been warred over for eons and depending on your pedigree and how many books and college campus lecture halls or think tanks one imbeds themselves in, it really comes back (gasp) to biblical prophesy. There will always be wars and rumours of wars.
Awareness well.....yippeyiokyeeaaaa. Mankind was born with a fierce spirit, some of them bent on world domination. I'd just tell you that being aware is well.....not enough to buy a cup of coffee. It's not that people don't care, it's that, starting at the top down, world leaders butter themselves in wealth, and throw out just enough fertilizer to raise next years crop.

On a personal level, it's not that I had ever resigned myself to any end, it's that....the world in it's totality will never, EVER become enlightened.
