For the record, I gave some wishy-washy reply as follows:

It's political violence and whoever did should be prosecuted, but it's just an egg lmao. He'll survive. As for the mask, nobody knows why she wore it or what her ideology was. If she turns out to some raving white supremacist, that's obviously bad, but also gorilla masks are just popular in general and it's not that unlikely that it just happened to be at the store or sitting in her basement. Let's just hope she gets caught so we can find out.

In retrospect, I think I shoulda at least said that it's tone deaf even if not deliberately racist. We should judge people by their actions, not just their intentions.
