Why do some people try to cure racism by being racist themselves?

@PiecingBabyFaceTogether I am trying to decipher what you're saying, as I though you had a specific case in mind, but it looks like you're generalizing in terms of how Arabs feel about Turks.

If it's the latter, then this would not be correct, as for the most part, there is no animosity between Arab countries and Turkey. The opposite is true, as they are considered allies since Erdogan's rise to power.

The exception would be Lebanon, Syria and Jordan, where the feelings are Turkey are colored by their experience with the Ottoman Empire and the reactions of the Christian/Druze/Alawite populations in those countries.

@Northwest Color is really not involved it's just a clash of ethnicities.

I don't want to mention what triggered this because it is very stupid. It's over a Turkish clothing brand 🤦‍♂️
They mistakenly put a shirt with Arabic writing on the Turkish website and then simply removed it. The Arabs started saying that the Turkish people complained about it so the brand listened and removed it and on the other hand some Turkish people got too offended and felt that their identity is in danger. The site later announced that they have designs in a lot of languages for different branches in 30 countries or so and things simply got mixed up.

A post was explaining that and this Arab man started calling Turks filthy pigs blah blah.

I been in Turkey for a year now and there is a few Turks who don't like Arabs at all and feel that we are taking advantage of their country especially Syrians. I didn't say they are angels but calling them all filthy pigs? For what! I'm their guest, they have been nice to me and I made Turkish friends and I hate generalization.

I definitely didn't say all Arabs are disgusting it's just a lot are. And if I here someone saying similar things about Americans or any nation I would not stand silent. I hope this answers your questions.

@PiecingBabyFaceTogether Racism can be about color, but it's primarily about "races", also known sometime as ethnicities.

Turkey, just like Lebanon, suffer the brunt of the Syrian refugee crisis, so you're going to have tension. Lebanon more so than Turkey, due to population size. Turkey is handing out Turkish passports, to Syrians who can afford it.

Strangely enough, in the US, 90% of goods in "Arab" stores, comes from Turkey. I shop regularly at an Iranian market, that's mostly stocked up with stuff from Turkey.

Even during my last swing through Lebanon/Cyprus/Greece/France (this past May-June), most of the canned goods were from Turkey.

Have not been to Turkey in a few years.
