I Hate Racism and Discrimination

What is an example of hating your own race? My friend and I had a talk about this, she wondered if having black friends mean you are black, which I responded "No." Just like having white friends doesn't mean you are white, it just means you are, you. But some people in my race have a thing for accusing their own for being anti-black because they decide to date outside of their race, relax or hot comb their curly hair, hang out with people who are not black, or "talk white".

Personally, I don't see these as being anti-black, people will always love who they want or do what they want that works best for them. What I truly believe what it means to hate your own race is the video my friend sent me yesterday of how this young black woman woman felt about black people in general.

It's sad that some people are actually this way, no matter the race but this is a true example of self-hate, not some black woman who decided that she couldn't deal with her natural hair and decided to get it relaxed.

The girl in the video, is just that..... A girl. She’s got a lot of growing up to do. I agree that this is self hate. It has nothing to do other black people. This is what she sees within herself. She hates who she is. But she will learn real quick that the world is going to see her as a black girl, not a white girl.

When I was a kid, I had hair down my butt and wore it straight. I talked proper, and had a small shape. I listened to pop and rock n roll. Of course I was bullied for not being “black enough”, in school. My own race didn’t accept me.
