I Hate Racism and Discrimination

Another post about my parents and their Reverse-racism. Well, just my mom this time.

My mom usually refuses to admit that she does that, as if she has an excuse to be racist just because she is a minority, but today during an argument after calling her out on her racism, she proudly admitted that she was indeed racist and that she has a right to be racist in her own home (I am visiting her). I feel so disappointed in her and I can't believe that she is my mother right now.

@bijouxbroussard White people. They could say hello or ask how she is and she'd somehow detect racism from them. For example, when we went to a Japanese restaurant last month a white customer kindly asked "Have you dined here before?" A few days later she told me that what he really meant was that black people had no place in a Japanese restaurant. How the heck does that make sense?? He just wanted to have a nice conversation.
@goagainsttheflow Oh, geez. My best friend's mother is like that. She will not have whites in her home. Her daughter isn't a racist and it gets really tiresome. I don't stay long when her mother's around.
My father's had awful experiences in his life, but he still treats everyone the way he'd want to be treated; he and Mom raised me and my sibs the same way.

@bijouxbroussardI thought people who didn't let certain races in their home were a thing of the past!

My dad just agrees with everything my mom says so she wont yell and nag at him. I keep telling him to argue back but he just says he's used to it and that he doesn't really listen to her outrageous rants and accusations. I still think he should say something though. He deserves respect.
@goagainsttheflow I suspect he's trying to keep the peace. It's an uncomfortable situation. Has she ever said anything to your white friends, or is she just this way in private ?

@bijouxbroussard She doesn't say anything about my white friends just because they're my friends, but white strangers she talks about nonstop.
