I Hate People Who Think the Holocaust Never Happened

Today is Holocaust Remembrance Day. As a boy of about 10 I remember hearing my uncle tell of what he witnessed when his platoon was the first troops into a death camp. He had to tell us. It was still fresh in his mind. The stench of death and disease. The starving people. The vermin in the housing. The vacant stares of the people being liberated. Some refusing to believe their captivity was finally over. The dead bodies in the open pits. The dead bodies of the ones who had lost all hope and flung themselves on the fence where they were electrocuted or shot. My uncle was a tough army sergeant and more than 20 years after he teared up and had to leave the room.

We need to continue telling the world of the atrocities for those who no longer can.
