I hate tipping culture!

Nowadays every time I buy something they ask me for a tip, I watched a homeless guy singing in the streets today and he asked me for a tip, I said I don't have change and he gave me the dirtiest look ever!! I nearly cried 😂 and another incident I was buying a lipstick and some hair products from the pharmacy I was paying with a contactless card and they asked me to pay money for some charity about cancer or something, I had to agree and pay it because she was waiting for me to hit yes so I hit yes 😭😭 here in the UK it's not mandatory to tip in restaurants because prices are already too high I went to a fish and chips restaurant with my friends at the beach last month, and they asked me to tip them for a meal that was mostly ready made frozen fish and chips which was expensive too 😭

@irun2 I know. I experienced that just last night. I got a salad from a take-away place. All the guy did was push a button on his machine, telling the employee in the kitchen what to make for me. When paying, I was shown my options of how much to tip him. For what? Pushing a button??? It's absurd. He gets paid by the store he works for.

I hate all this charity tipping that appears on the payment terminal in the UK. I just stand there and look confused until the cashier cancels it for me.

The idea of tipping at a fish and chip restaurant is just absurd!

@ninalanyon it wasn't even a good fish and chips it was bought from Iceland frozen Isle and then defrosted then cooked again and they charged like £15 !!!

@Collegegirl23 If they are going to insist on tipping then we should introduce the idea of anti-tipping where we deduct money if the food, service, or decor are substandard!

From Kent, I don't see many people requesting tips here, and even on apps like UberEats, leaving a tip is up to the individual.

Really rampant in the US , I carry cash so I don 't deal with those screens asking for it, one of my rules is if I have to stand to order my food there is not going to be a tip. I wish some establishments would adopt a no tipping policy and pay there staff well to compensate, I would choose those places to eat at.
