Does the concept of all Americans (except Native Americans) coming from immigrants apply to black Americans?
Most Americans blacks are descendants of African slaves. When considering the history, can African slaves be considered immigrants?
They did not leave Africa to settle in America permanently - they were brought by force as property; not human beings. Whites came to America on their own accord to seek a better life. Blacks were brought to America for bondage to a worse life of no freedom. Does intent make a difference?
