I Wish Slavery Wouldn't Have Happened...

That doesn't sound controversial, does it? It certainly is to leftists I encounter. They say it's racist. If blacks were not brought here as slaves, we would not have to keep dredging it up & the blacks who would winde up coming here would not have a grudge like blacks in America do today. Proof that I'm right on the second part is Nigerians come here & lead prosperous & successful lives, fresh off the boat. Meanwhile, american born blacks descended from slaves have not really been able to do that in large numbers...they are raised on negativity towards the US, so why would we expect anything different?

I suspect that Nigerians don't have the intergenerational trauma of slavery.

No offence, it is a bit stupid to look a two people with the same skin tone and assume they should have the same life, historical or cultural experience.

I said that black americans descended from slaves have a grudge against the US over slavery...of course I find that understandable. I think it harms them more than helps...but I definitely understand what motivates their disdain.

@TheDeathOfOzymandiaz Plus, the Nigerians who come here are usually from the upper-class of Nigeria. Same with China, which is why Asian-Americans have a higher income average than European-Americans.

@BohemianBabe I haven't read anything on them having a higher average IQ, but I would assume that is true. Strong, intact families, impeccable work ethic, appreciation for the opportunities they have here is my guess as far as why they are better off than the average black american.

@BohemianBabe Most are christians. That definitely plays a part in it. You are saying Nigerians have a higher average IQ, I don't know that for certain. From my understanding, black americans have a higher average IQ than their counterparts in Africa. But that may not be an across-the-board fact. The average IQ in Africa is like 65-80 last I read on it.

@Activitykittens well yeah. He is saying Nigerians have a higher average IQ than blacks born in America & that is why they are doing much better economically than those descended from slavery. I don't really doubt that is true. I just don't know that it is. Going to look into it here shortly

Aside from that fact that most black Americans are also Christians, there's no evidence that religion raises your IQ.

No, I'm saying Nigerian-Americans have a higher IQ and income average. And the reason for that is because the Nigerians that come here are usually born into wealth. Same with the Asians who come here.
Also, IQ is largely a result of material needs being met. The higher a society's living standards are, the higher the IQ of the population will be.
