Can someone believe in racial supremacy without being racist?

By racist I mean engaging knowingly or not in practices that discriminate against people they consider inferior.

Isn't the belief in racial supremacy part of the definition of being racist?
@Whodunnit See /@Dino11's walk like a duck comment.

OP seeems to be drawing a distinction between "believing" and "being" which I think is a little off, but worth (at least for a minute or two) pondering.

If"Aunt Bee" really believed Opie should never have slept with that niggger girl, but still still loved and raised her as best she could, does that forfeit her belief in whitessupremacy?

Seems to me like, in real life, there's a often a disconnect between behavior and cognition, and labels like racist don't really capture that.

Some think words and actions make someone racist @Whodunnit

@eMortal Well, it all starts with thought, whether you verbalise or act upon it or not.

Luckily though we cannot police thoughts, lol

@eMortal All action and words start with an idea or a belief and mindset therefore, someone who holds racist beliefs even if they are not acted upon is racist.

@MistyCee You raise an interesting point.

But racism in thought is still racism, even if you never act upon those thoughts.

If we use another heinous character flaw as a comparison. Is a paedophile only a paedophile if they act upon their urges?
@Whodunnit not my thought, really, as much as OP's, I think.

@MistyCee Well, you both raised good points then. I'm not one to show favouritism, lol
@MistyCee What’s the analogy with Aunt Bee and (I can’t believe you said it) girl ?
@bijouxbroussard I can't quite believe I said that either, tbh. And I didn't even get the story right. Not my best. Sorry
