Should I focus on painting if I prefer poetry?

I’m painting a lot lately, and I use to sell my paintings. But my number one passion is poetry. I do love all visual arts and beauty but poetry is more important to me. The reason I’m focusing on painting mainly is that I know you can’t make any sort of funds from poetry. Whereas my paintings did sell for good funds with little outlay. Am I doing the right thing not focusing on what I truly love?

The answer is probably to balance your time with a bit of both... It's what many of us do who prefer to work in the arts, but can't make any $$ at it. We work in offices by day, and by night, we are poets, musicians, artists etc. again.
Aren't they one in the same? Just different mediums.
I wish i new how to paint.
