Withered Flowers

He gave her some flowers
Placed in her hand
He didn't seem to notice
She was barren land

The flowers began wilting
When she stroked the petal
She was plagued with death
Haunted by the devil

She wanted to exude life
It just evaded her so elusive
She just couldn't grab a hold
Happiness for her seemed inconclusive

Her heart felt heavy
She laid the flowers on a tomb
Tears trickled softly
As she watched the flowers bloom
