Yeah that's why we are like this in the states, we can easily ignore atrocities because we don't see it. We're basically passive observers to others suffering. I'm not saying that people don't go through individual suffering as Americans the trauma of war is a diff beast entirely.
It's sort of like being homeless in a way. Being homeless will show you the truth of people. I don't mean to say this as in all ppl out there are bad, there's good people who know struggle that help others. But there's a lot, a striking amount that people are just blissfully unaware of certain things and dangers.
Like war, the streets show you how everything really is. It is truth like it or not.
But people don't see things that way, they can only be passive observers for a moment in time. They see glimpses and then go home behind their fences.
Nothing like seeing war atrocities directly in front of you.
@SatanBurger I'm more familiar with your homeless comments than you might think. And you are right. During the Awesome Met Gala where the people that actually matter how to show how beautiful they are, they clean up the streets from the homeless. They don't want international camera crews to see them. They go home thinking that the so called homeless problem in the US is made up. The same with war. It can't be that bad if all they are blowing up are trucks and parked airplanes. Unless they are only showing us that for a reason.. Thank you for your comment. It's right on point.
I really can’t comprehend the suffering going on in so many parts of the world. The whole concept of bombing people to get what you want is so evil and i’m so tired of it
After Japan surrendered in 1945 and the United States occupied Japan, images and reports showing the human effects of the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki were restricted from public release.
This is an emotional read, but a much needed reminder. Thank you for sharing a different perspective. It's true we don't know what we can't/don't see. I hope we continue to see all sides thru journalism. It will allow us to make more intelligent decisions as a country.
@Mindful I think one thing is for us not to know because we don't want to see, but another thing is to not know because things are kept from us so we can't see them. Thank you for reading my friend.
