@swirlie Nope, that they were actors acting in a movie that was the creation of a writer, script writers and a director that were all thinking of something entirely different than raw realism. George Stevens, the director of the movie, actively addressed racism in his work, particularly in the context of Texas and the Southwest. The movie itself is based on Edna Ferber's 1952 novel, Giant, a social commentary on racism and classism in 1950s Texas, particularly through the experiences of a woman from Virginia who marries into a wealthy ranching family
