@anythingoes477 same with my 401K, after being murdered by Bush it came back with a vengeance under Obama. Murdered again in the covid crash, and has done very well these last four years. I'm worried with all the chaos that surrounds Trump and his Tariff scheme that it's going to die a horrible death again.

@robingoodfellow My suggestion............instead of long term bonds.....stay short term. Move out of stocks and invest in Municipal Bonds......are not affected by gov policy and pays around 10%+ tax free. And if you want stocks buy mutual funds that do not track the DOW or an Index. trump crashed the DOW 10 times in 4 years.....erasing all 401K profits when he did. Instead..... invest in no load asset management funds...........Fidelity and Vanguard have low expenses. Those funds balance and re-balance..,(shift assets according to market and economic conditions) from Bonds to cash to stocks in a percentage mix. Not as high of a yield but much less chance of a downside loss. And avoid Chinese and foreign market funds. Those gains are long gone. And for gods sake do not fall for crypto.
