Yes, it is here, too where the average summer highs are around 68 degrees. But there's no excuse for not being prepared.
We can sustainably cool ourselves each day and we have a responsibility to cool our environment.

Our buildings arent made for it. It's only the last 15 or so years we've had this and its not for long. My classroom was 34⁰ the other day, with 35 people in it. It's a small room. It was yuck. We dont have ac as it's an old building.

UK is actually a temperate maritime climate , thanks to the Gulf Stream . Palm trees grow there. Your yearly high and low in Michigan would floor a UK citizen w the huge temp swings from winter to summer. (You probably had 0 in winter and now 90 in summer . That’s a WILD temp swing over 6 months )
BluntSm0ker · 100+, M
Yeah they only get like 2 weeks of sunshine out of the year so it's a big deal.

On the Mojave it gets around 110 and up.
AthrillatheHunt · 56-60, M
@Munumbis that’s why nobody lives there.
TexChik · F
104 at the farm yesterday , real feel 109. It’s been raining in the afternoons .
hunkalove · 70-79, M
Gonna be 95°F here in Denver today.
Bri89 · 36-40, M
@hunkalove Hopefully, the humidity isn't going to be too bad.
hunkalove · 70-79, M
@Bri89 Humidity at noon is supposed to be 18%. I should be fine unless Miley gets me all steamed up.
UKNaturist · M
We don't have AC (in the main) and the heat we get tends to be a humid heat. Humidity for a couple of days this week has been up at 75-80%

@UKNaturist
Wow....that's like bring slapped with a wet towel!
UKNaturist · M
@CurrentName - you come out of the shower, get dressed and you're already sweaty again 😞
CurrentName · 51-55, M
@UKNaturist @UKNaturist I know!!!😊
HenrySpanx · 46-50, M
They're not used to sunshine there
Bri89 · 36-40, M
@HenrySpanx Better than it being cloudy and moribund all year, isn't it?
Nevertooold · 56-60, M
mid to upper 90's all this week with extremely high humidity!!!Thank God for A/C!!!!
Hot weather doesn't work the same everywhere.
40C In a car, in a concrete room, or out by the sea, or out in a forest doesn't feel the same. A lot of environmental factors are taken into consideration.
Bri89 · 36-40, M
@greensnacks Yes, I suppose you are correct. Maybe it's time for them to reconsider their buildings and renovate for modern weather patterns.
ArishMell · 70-79, M
@Bri89 They are.
CurrentName · 51-55, M
It was 96 degrees today.
96!!!!
GoFish ·
over 100 some days here
Bri89 · 36-40, M
@GoFish Now that is excessive in my opinion.
GoFish ·
@Bri89 it gets very hot here
Pretzel · 70-79, M
to be fair if it's 10-20 degrees warmer than your normal - it's hot

I was in Alaska and it was about 75 or 80 and people were telling me to be careful in the heat
meggie · F
It's a different kind of heat here when it gets over 30. It is similar to the humid heat you get in places like Singapore.
meggie · F
@AthrillatheHunt i was in Singapore for 2 weeks once and hated the weather as I sweated like a pig
AthrillatheHunt · 56-60, M
@meggie I couldn’t imagine it during the wet season
meggie · F
@AthrillatheHunt they get heavy rain and then sunshine which steams it up
peterlee · M
It’s the humidity
They are not used to it and worst part, their home aren't made for such temperatures. That's why they find it very difficult.

It's 105 here...

Yes, because we are not accustomed to temperatures above 27ºC (80ºF); and most of our homes are designed more to be warm in Winter than cool in Summer.

We are though seeing more frequent spells of very hot weather, milder Winters and some blurring of the seasons.

Comparisons like yours are meaningless. It would like asking North Africans if they find a few degrees of frost in the daytime, unbearably cold.
ArtieKat · M
@ArishMell We had an exchange teacher from South Africa when I was at secondary school - he was so excited when he saw a few flakes of snow for the first time!
