HMS Iron Duke is being retired

That leaves us with five frigates to defend the UK.

Let’s hope the drones don’t get them first:

With so few ships that actually work in the British Navy , you would think retiring one might be a problem.

@TexChik Yes, not much for thought in the planning several years ago.
TexChik · F
@peterlee When the UK went woke and green , they doomed themselves . They sit on a huge oil field in the north sea and refuse to drill it. Energy is prosperity .

Currently they can not defend themselves or even be of help with dilapidated equipment.

@TexChik The big mistake was leaving the EU.
TexChik · F
@peterlee The EU fares no better. None of them ( except Germany) can defend themselves. Look out for a threepeat!
peterlee · M
@TexChik Again this is lack of fore thought . We have rested too heavily on America.
TexChik · F
@peterlee it wasn't the lack of forethought, it was corruption, which is always the case with leftist governance.
peterlee · M
@TexChik No, no, no. We have an incompetent government now. But that has followed years of right wing self interest. The rot set in with Gordon Brown, and it has got worse since then!
TexChik · F
@peterlee the imperial control of oil prices and the complicit for a price American presidents worked together . But now its gone too far and the UK and EU must fivure a way out
peterlee · M
@TexChik I agree. But it’s impossible to assess the political climate in the UK at moment. Other than Starmer is finished.

@peterlee As long as they believe windmills are the answer , the UK will continue on into irrelevancy . Oil is power, and they have plenty.
